Flash Mob Dance Event at Klang Parade

So this week was pretty interesting as just one week ago I got a buzz from my ex-dance instructor at my fitness centre, Ms. Meei, asking me if I wanted to join a flash mob dance thingy at Klang Parade. And since I love dancing, I like to think I'm reasonably good at it (though certainly not good enough to go professional coz' no one in their right mind would pay me to dance for them) and being part of flash mob sounded like a fun idea, I couldn't pass up the chance. It was a purely volunteer thing, so everyone else who took part were simply students from my instructors gym dance classes, who are just like me... amateurs who can't really dance that well but like to think that we can and are gutsy enough to get up in public and show what we sort-of can do in front of innocent bystanders... I mean, shoppers. XD

My first practice started on Tuesday (that's four days before the date of the event), and I had practices on Wednesday and Thursday to learn up three songs, out of five that were performed yesterday. Our songs were:

4) Shakira - Waka Waka (Bellydance performance)

I was in dance 1, 3 and 5, the most challenging one being the LMFAO song, coz' from start to finish almost all the steps are different except for one part which is repeated. The dance steps to the Mizz Nina songs were easier and we repeat them 3 or four time through the song, so supposedly they were 'easier' song. The funny thing was I ended up remembering all the steps for the LMFAO song, but I messed up some steps on the first song, and I think everyone messed up on the last song. Well, I did mention we aren't professionals. :P

So I have photos of our dance performance taken by my wonderful mum, but unfortunately no videos, firstly because she doesn't know how to use my camera, and secondly because the sound recorder on my camera no longer works so my vids comes out with no sound. Hence I didn not bother trying to get her to take videos, and I'm not sure if anyone else did (I'm just gonna google for the next few days and see what pops up on the internet. :P). Anyhow, since I messed up on two of the songs, I'm only interested in the seeing my LMFAO performance! XD

A couple of group pics before our dance started...

Getting into our first Mizz Nina dance... (where I have omitted the photos showing me doing something else from the others, i.e. where I screwed up. :P)

Followed by the dance to the Britney Spears song 'Hold It Against Me':

Ms. Meei doing her thang!!

Me and my 'crew' of 3 other girls doing the LMFAO dance. This was the starting formation:

The song involved quite a bit of jumping around...

And for the infamous 'wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle', our step was to point at the crowd, and well, WIGGLE.

Some of my funny poses in the next few pics. :P

The three of us looking like we're about to kung fu the girl in fushcia pink! But we're actually moving into our final formation. XD

And voila, our final pose! And I actually look pretty cool in this pic, and since it's very rare for me to look cool in anything, I LIKE I LIKE I LIKE!

Next time was the Waka Waka song, where the other ladies did their belly dancing, and I got another break.

And our final performance to Mizz Mina's Take Over, where all of us had to wear an orange shirt (courtesy of our sponser, Anna Brahmin, who does nice southern Indian food... and I'm saying this coz' after our show we went to their place and got free food. :) But I don't know the address of the place. Sorry I'm a terrible food blogger, I know).

Thanks for watching!
