Little mole thingy

Whoa hey, I'm writing about an animal that isn't a dog! Just a cute little fella which has been scurrying around my house for the past one week, occasionally making one off loud squeaking noises, and I thought it was some sort of rat, 'til I caught it and realized it's some kind of mole-like creature. It's really tiny and kinda cute too! I've never seen a house mole before, let also have one visit my house. Makes me almost wish I hadn't thrown away my hamster cages, although I couldn't really keep it anyway with all the traveling I do.

 Looook into my eyeeees

 Little bugger can climb

And I took a video too coz' I just can't get enough of how cute it is.

Tomorrow I release it and hope it doesn't come back to squeakify my house again!

Pet Adoptions by Independent Rescuers

So anyone looking for a dog or cat to adopt probably thinks the best places to adopt are from animal shelters like PAWS or SPCA, and while I won't argue that it would be great to adopt a pet from a shelters, the downside is that you can't really predict the behaviour of an animal from a shelter and you might end up with a troublesome pet. A problem that is avoidable if an animal has been fostered, as the fosterer would know the animal's behaviour and be able to tell a potential adopter the good and bad of an animal's behaviour. Good places to look for fostered animals in Malaysia is through the Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) Facebook page, as they are a dog rescue NGO with no shelter, only volunteers who foster the dogs, and Petfinder.my where independent rescuers post all the animals they have available for adoption. As I spend a lot of energy these days rescuing dogs and pups with my mum, I use Petfinder all the time for my rescued pooches, so much that I am now listed as an approved rescuer. Which means anyone who adopts from me can get a free 3kg bag of dog food courtesy of Eukanuba. And who doesn't love free stuff? :-D

Another place I recently found out where independent rescuers can bring to to find potential adopters is Ohana's pet store at Kota Damansara, which holds adoption drives for independent rescuers ever Saturday from 10am to 6pm. They usually have about 10 to 15 dogs here, and the fosterers also are around to tell you what the dogs are like.

If anyone is interested to put a pet for adoption or adopt a pet from Ohana's please contact Tan Chooi Chooi, the nice lady in charge of the shop at  +60102208113. The shop is located at Sunsuria Avenue, Persiaran Mahogani,  Kota Damansara, PJU5, Petaling Jaya. They also update their Facebook page regularly with new dogs or cats available for adoption.

Here are some pics of the recent pet adoption drive at Ohana's, with our very friendly and loving fosterers and volunteers (Sorry for the crappy photos, they come out weird when uploaded from my phone).

Some of the dogs up for adoption (people not included)

Some of the doggies looking for a home

A great dane up for adoption (He's been on a vegetarian diet coz' the family is vegetarian, that's why he looks skinny)

A volunteer, who's also a neighbour of mine, giving a dog a brush. I can't tell which one is happier. Lol!
